Good News! LVTC Awarded Unit Prize of National Voluntary Blood Donation Promotion Award

From News Center (Text by Qin Luying, LVTC Communist Youth League Committee) On February 14, 2023, the National Health Commission announced the list of national voluntary blood donation awards, with LVTC winning the honorary Unit Prize of the 2020-2021 National Voluntary Blood Donation Promotion Award.

This honor is the commendation award for units in the national voluntary blood donation commendation event jointly organized by the National Health Commission, the Red Cross Society of China, and the Medical Service Bureau of the Logistic Support Department of the Central Military Commission. It is the highest honor given by the state to units that have made outstanding contributions to the voluntary blood donation work. The year 2020-2021 marked the 11th cycle of the commendation event, which is held every two years. There were a total of 381 units in China winning the title, only 12 of which were from Guangxi. Winning this award is a great recognition of LVTC's continued efforts in organizing and promoting voluntary blood donation since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and its outstanding achievements made along the way. It is also a tangible embodiment of LVTC's exemplary performance in fulfilling its social responsibilities.

In recent years, LVTC has attached great importance to the public welfare cause of voluntary blood donation and actively carried out publicity and education activities for the cause, which was an important way to cultivate students' sense of responsibility and spirit of dedication, as well as an important platform to demonstrate LVTC's social responsibility. Under the overall leadership of LVTC's Party Committee, LVTC Communist Youth League Committee and the Guangxi Blood Center have worked closely together to actively carry out a series of publicity and education activities on voluntary blood donation and hematopoietic stem cell donation. With sufficient pandemic prevention work, regular on-campus blood donation activities are organized, forming a sound collaboration mechanism. According to statistics, in the first half of 2020, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, only LVTC carried out on-campus blood donation activities across the entire university and college system of the city, with a total of 1,026 donators and 305,514 ml of blood donated. In the two voluntary blood donation activities organized by LVTC in March and December 2021, there were a total of 3,661 donators with 1,057,780 ml of blood donated, providing strong support for alleviating the clinical blood demand in Liuzhou while demonstrating the good image of the faculty and students of LVTC, a college under the National Double High-Quality Plan.

In December 2020, LVTC won the Unit Prize of the first Liuzhou Voluntary Blood Donation Promotion Award. On June 14, 2022, Mr. Wei Lin, LVTC's Vice President, was invited to attend the 2022 Liuzhou World Blood Donor Day, a public benefit activity, to deliver a speech as a representative of advanced units for voluntary blood donation. In October 2022, LVTC won the Unit Prize of Liuzhou Voluntary Blood Donation Promotion Award in 2020-2021.

Voluntary blood donation is a lofty undertaking to promote social civilization, as well as a people-centered project that concerns the health of the masses. In the coming future, LVTC will live up to the honor and carry forward its fine traditions to make further efforts in voluntary blood donation, and continue to extend the humanitarian spirit of saving the dead and healing the wounded with boundless love. To fully implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress with practical actions, LVTC will strive to make new and greater contributions to the building of Liuzhou into a nationally civilized city and China into a healthy and fit nation.
