Students of LVTC Contribute to the Fight against COVID-19 in Guangxi

From News Center (Text by Cheng Zhiyuan and Liu Chunshui, School of Electronic Information Engineering; Photo by Huang Haique and Wei Jiawang, School of Electronic Information Engineering) On February 12, 2022, while students were still playing with their cell phones at home by the fire and eating breakfast at the sound of their parents' urging, there was such a group of students who were at the frontline in the fight against the COVID-19 in Baise, Guangxi. They dressed in protective clothing and stood in the cold wind to assist medical workers to carry out mass nucleic acid tests in various epidemic areas.

Huang Haique, a student from Class 3 of the Software and Information Services (UI Design) Major enrolled in 2019 in the School of Electronic Information Engineering of LVTC, who lives in Debao County, Baise, Guangxi, is exactly one of them. She responded to the call of the local Youth League Committee immediately after a confirmed COVID-19 case was found on February 4, and became a volunteer to fight against the epidemic in Debao County. She worked from 06:30 to 19:30 every day, and just ate instant noodles at noon. Even so, she did not feel tired. Huang said she was proud of contributing to her hometown, and hoped that the epidemic would pass soon.

In addition to Huang Haique, there were more than ten students from the School of Electronic Information Engineering of LVTC, including Wei Jiawang, Liang Xinwei and Wei Jianxu, who worked as volunteers in various cities and counties in Guangxi to fight against the COVID-19. Some of them assisted the medical workers in nucleic acid tests, while others assisted the community workers to do household surveys and collect epidemic data from door to door. Although they are all the post-00s generations, we learn maturity and perseverance from them. Their behavior embodies the responsibilities and roles of young students of LVTC, and will also further inspire the youth to remain true to the original aspiration and keep the mission firmly in mind, rise to challenges and work hard, thus contributing to winning the battle of epidemic prevention and control in Guangxi.
